How 2020 Changed the Industry

It is almost impossible to find words that represent the magnitude of change that has taken place in the last year. Often, we hear that we will get back to normal soon. In all likelihood, normal will take on new meaning and form in many facets of life as we move forward.

What will a new normal look like in the Property and Casualty insurance industry, specifically for agents, brokers, carriers and policyholders in the Midwest? As insurance professionals, it helps to review how we got here. The Insurance Journal shared this article, which summarizes major topics insurance professionals faced in the Midwest last year. A pandemic and shutdowns, natural disasters and severe storms, and several other events that took place will likely induce many changes in coverage terms, conditions, pricing and reinsurance capacity in 2021.
