Welcome spring! With a new season comes hopefulness for positive changes on the horizon and a bright outlook for 2021.

Transitioning into the new year, our claims and loss control service offerings continue to become more robust. Due to the 2020 CAT events, property rates nationwide continue to climb. The severe winter weather that struck Texas, Oklahoma and other states added $20+ billion in losses for the insurance industry in early 2021. These events will certainly affect our industry as a whole in terms of reinsurance costs, deductibles and underwriting guidelines.

Personally, I was hit by the ice/snow storms that battered the Pacific NW last month. I hope all of you are safe and warm after these events. Our thoughts go out to those affected, given the breadth and impact of these events.
