With 2021 now in full swing, I am pleased by the submission activity we have experienced in our various niches since the beginning of the year. The Religious Organizations niche, in particular, is experiencing growth from- large and small organizations alike. This is a great start to the year and I encourage you to look to GuideOne and me when you have opportunities that align with us.

 

Business Win!

There is great work and collaboration between you and our team, which I believe this recent win highlights. We signed a $20,000 Religious Organization account in Missouri last month, including their CPP, Workers’ Compensation and Umbrella coverages.

 

Through GuideOne’s small business portal, you can rate, quote and bind a Business Owner’s Policy (BOP) for an account up-to $5 million in less than 20 minutes. With the recent addition of three enhancements, our small church BOP offers a broad church appetite designed to meet the unique risks your church customers face. I encourage you to keep the small church BOP quotes coming, as I believe this is a solid avenue for growth. Also, we provide online training resources and I encourage anyone in your office who will be quoting BOPs with GuideOne to visit our Small Business Training page on GuideLink. Here you will find:

BillingCenter Invoices on GuideLink

You may now access BillingCenter invoices on GuideLink. Follow these steps to locate an invoice: 

  1. From the GuideLink home screen, click on the Find Customer tab
  2. Enter the policy/account information and click Search to locate the customer’s Policy Record
  3. Once you are viewing the Policy Record, select View Documents.

Effective May 1, 2021: Deductible Change

As we continue to see an increase in deductibles across the market, GuideOne will implement a minimum deductible of $2,500 for new and renewal business in all niches, effective May 1, 2021. This may vary based on certain risk characteristics. Please reach out to me or to your GuideOne Underwriter if you have any questions.

Boiler Inspections...It's Time

Boiler inspections are a critical step in ensuring the safe operation of the boiler and overall facility. Applicable policyholders should take the time now to prepare for and schedule their inspection.

 

Remember that effective May 1, 2020, GuideOne teamed up with Travelers BoilerRe (TSB) to provide Equipment Breakdown coverage on our Commercial Property and Business Owner’s Policies. This change took place for all policies effective on or after 5/1/2020.

 

Policyholders needing to schedule a jurisdictional boiler inspection will need to identify their GuideOne policy effective date to determine the appropriate equipment breakdown reinsurer.
